About Me
MolyFit was created to break down barriers and show that age should not slow you down.
Founded in 2019 by John Molyneux , qualified and award winning sports therapist.
Where it all began…
One of my main motivations for MolyFit was to challenge societal perceptions of older adults. I aimed to create an environment where people are recognised for their experience, wisdom and continued potential, rather than being defined by age alone. I wanted to show how exercise can be a powerful tool to improve health, not to be avoided because of age.
I launched MolyFit in 2019 with a book, A Better You in Later Life. The website soon followed, but no one seemed to be listening. Then Covid happened and the world changed.
During these difficult times, maybe for the first time, the focus was on older adults and how important it was for the over 65s to stay fit to help tackle underlying health conditions. I started working with Herts Sports and Physical Activity Partnership and they provided me with a platform for my voice to be heard.
MolyFit is an exercise hub promoting daily exercise to improve your health and wellbeing.

Seven years later…
Seven years later, MolyFit has an international reach, four books and a website loaded with resources and exercise information.
Times change and we all evolve. There are so many different organisations and outlets pursuing my original goal that I now feel able to able to step away from exercise for older adults and focus on my other passion – helping people with Parkinson’s. I will continue to work with older adults but now my main attention is on showing how exercise can stabilise, and even reduce, the symptoms of Parkinson’s.
More About Me
Here’s my potted history.
2000
I qualified at West Herts College as a sports therapist in 2000, winning the sports therapy shield.
I then spent the next 20 years building up my mobile sports therapy business, covering Hertfordshire and North London.
2019
MolyFit was created in 2019 and gained global awareness in 2020 during the Covid pandemic after my video showing clients how to use massage oil was mistakenly banned.
Read the story of how I went viral.
I was contacted by every newspaper in the UK, followed a week later by media across the rest of the world and then a socially distanced interview with ITV.
Parkinson's Champion
After a friend of mine was diagnosed with Parkinson’s (later MSA) I wanted to improve my knowledge so I qualified in PDWarrior. This led me to discover how well my autistic brain is able to look at the condition in an individual in a holistic way, seeing things that others don’t.
I am now a physical activity champion and mentor for Parkinson’s UK East of England. I train the trainers in how exercise can help manage and maintain the symptoms of Parkinson’s and run my own accredited CPD course, An Introduction to Exercise for Parkinson’s.
2020 and beyond...
Since 2020 I have become a Fellow member of the FHT and often contribute to their quarterly magazine, The International Therapist. I won FHT Sports Therapist of the Year in both 2020 and 2024 and was presented with a community champion award for Outstanding Service to Health and Wellbeing.
I have spoken on local radio and been interviewed on both ITV and the BBC.
As well as massaging clients as a mobile sports therapist, I have a treatment room at my home and also at Maverick Gym, where I am the lead therapist looking after Strongmen and Powerlifters.
Today
MolyFit has me running classes and talks all over Hertfordshire, but the two closest to my heart are the monthly Bishop’s Stortford Parkinson’s class and online exercise class for Carers in Hertfordshire.
My most recent accolade was being made an autistic ambassador to support the No Limits 2026 campaign. This is for individuals with lived experience of disability who can testify to the transformative impact that sport and physical activity can have in shaping their life.
