Be More Margaret

Meet Margaret. She is 79 years old and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2021.

Margaret exercises and takes part in sports everyday and doing so, has reduced her symptoms. We made this video to inspire others to do the same.

She uses movement as medicine and is a dedicated, determined wonderful lady who is as passionate about helping others as I am. It was a pleasure to meet Margaret and to call her a friend.

This is her weekly exercise regime:
Monday: Walk to collect Paper plus any small shopping, then Delia’s class at Harpenden Leisure Centre (HLC). In winter months likely to drive to HLC for Delia’s class as dark on leaving.
Tuesday: Golf at Mid Herts Golf Club- 18 holes Competition morning then bridge in afternoon with Ladies after lunch. So normally pick up Paper, plus shopping on my way driving to golf for a tee time from 8.45 -9.30.
Wednesday: Walk to collect Paper early. Go to the gym for a workout 1- 1.30 hrs from about 9.30/ 10.00am, then go to my Bridge class at WGC (3/4th year) from 2.30 to 4.30.
Thursday: Drive to pick up paper plus any shopping early, then Golf at MHGC Ladies Roll up at 8.45/9.00 to play 9/14/18 holes depending on numbers. Then table tennis at Harpenden Trust Hall, above Co-op at Southdown from 3.00 to 4.00pm run by the Harpenden Trust / PD Buddies Support group (free).
Friday: AS per Wednesday am, then go to MHGC for social bridge from 1.30 to 4.00.
Saturday: walk to pick up Paper, do housework etc, then do crosswords/puzzles/ sudoku etc in paper, plus every second weekend go to bridge class at WGC.
Sunday: Walk to collect Paper plus any small shopping, then Delia’s class at HLC. If weather is fine, then I would walk from my flat to HLC. In summer months often play 9 holes golf in afternoon/ or from 10 am.

Yes, not only do I keep active physically but also keep my mind and brain active.

Exercise has improved Margaret’s symptoms. It could do the same for you.
