I won! 🥇

5 Nov 2024

I am happy to say that I have won the The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) Sports therapist of the year 2024.

My work as a sports therapist is so diverse. I look after strongmen/strongwomen and powerlifters at Maverick gym, people with Parkinson’s, older adults and anyone with aches or niggles. Over the years I have met so many wonderful and inspirational people on the massage couch and across the industry.

The FHT was established in 1962 and is the largest professional body for complementary, beauty and sports therapists.

The FHT commented “John earned the title of Sports Therapist of the Year for his exceptional contributions in advancing Sports Therapy within his community and beyond. Through his innovative work, he has not only raised national awareness about the importance of exercise in sports therapy, but he’s also created educational programs specifically designed to support people with Parkinson’s, sharing his expertise widely. John’s commitment to collaboration with various health organisations highlights his dedication to making sports therapy accessible and impactful for larger audiences. Alongside managing a successful sports massage business for strength athletes, he also volunteers his time to support local agencies, showcasing both his passion for and belief in the benefits of sports therapy.”

To be recognised for my contribution towards the profession that I love is amazing, but you are only as good as the people around you. I could not have achieved this without so many fantastic and inspirational people in my life.

Thank you to the FHT for recognising my work and congratulations to the other winners and finalists.
