The two charities that I support in Hertfordshire are Parkinson’s UK and Carers in Herts. When visiting the Carers in Hertfordshire Hub meetings, I noticed that many unpaid carers lacked crucial information about the support available to them whilst caring for their loved ones with Parkinson’s. Recognising this need, I reached out to both Parkinson’s UK and Carers in Hertfordshire, and together we have organised a free online session to address these concerns.
This session will take place this Wednesday at 13:00 and is open to all unpaid carers looking for guidance, resources, and practical advice on supporting those with Parkinson’s. We hope this initiative will help bridge the information gap and provide carers with the tools and knowledge they need.
The first half of the session offers a brief overview of what Parkinson’s is, including common causes and symptoms. You’ll then learn about the wide range of support available locally – from emotional and practical guidance to specialist services and community resources in Hertfordshire.
The second half of the event is dedicated to an open Q&A, giving you the chance to raise concerns, explore specific topics, or simply listen to what others are asking.

I have also produced a useful PDF to accompany the talk which can be downloaded here:
I would like to thank the wonderful people at Parkinson’s UK and Carers in Hertfordshire for their help and for accommodating me in organising this project.
